OK, let's see: Urbana can go nuke-free.
But not smoke free?
I suppose it makes sense -- to someone. Hey, it's Urbana.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING: This blog reached a momentous milestone Monday: Old Guy Blog is now officially 1 year and 1 day old.
And they (and I) said it wouldn't last. Then again, as long as there are wingnut conservatives ...
And so it goes.

Happy birthday you old fart
Thanks. Never thought I'd last this long. Not sure if I did...
Urbana is in the process of going smoke free. They had to have committee of the whole and gave direction to City Staff as to what they did and did not agree with in the pending bill. The bill now comes back for a second reading on May 22nd. Most of the straw polls were 5-2 in favor of restrictions.
I didn't even know there were nukes in Urbana! Screw the cigarettes. Get rid of those first.
Urbana went nuke-free at least a decade ago, maybe longer. And, as you can see, it's working quite well, so far. Haven't seen a mushroom cloud over downtown in a long long time.
congrats!
